The hospital had outgrown its facility and required significant expansion. In 2008 KPF developed a design for the expansion, and R. Spencer Steenblik, then at KPF, drew many of its elevations and renderings. The hospital as built was designed by Perkins&Will. The gallery combines KPF’s 2008 elevations, renderings and site model with photographs of the completed hospital. Its design team worked closely with hospital and community leaders, medical professionals, staff, patients, and families to keep patient care uninterrupted during construction.
